Mrs Christine Seed - PICT Advanced Practitioner

(Parks Inner Child Therapy)

PICT is a powerful and flexible, imagery-based therapy model, designed for gentle and rapid resolution to emotional problems and unwanted behaviours.

The PICT model was founded from transactional Analysis (TA). It is designed and developed for those ready to move beyond a talking therapy into comfortable, thorough and rapid change-work.

Parks Inner Child Therapy was created and developed by Penny Parks, initially for assisting adults to overcome trauma and damage from childhood abuse. The abuse could be emotional, physical or sexual and usually due to neglect or inadequate parenting (which may have been unintentional).

However, Parks Inner Child Therapy can be effective for all manner of problems and suitable for the resolution of issues such as: Low self esteem, high stress levels, low mood, grief and bereavement, anger, fears, phobias, eating disorders, self harm and obsessive, compulsive behaviours.

Sessions are booked weekly for one hour and a half each. Clients are expected to develop their new learning and experiences between sessions with assigned home work.

This is an intense course of therapy lasting five consecutive days or two long weekends (20 hours in all) and covers the whole PICT course. It is ideal for those who need to travel a long distance or prefer to take a week off work to deal with their emotional problems.

Clients are expected to attend therapy for 4 hours each morning, have a period of rest and relaxation in the afternoon and use the evening to do homework preparation for the next day.

Each session includes a break for refreshments. A choice of accommodation is available within walking distance.

Commitment is essential. It is important to know you are ready and willing for change to take place. Nothing happens to you, you are the one who will create change within yourself with the therapist's help. The sessions are gentle and effective without the need to disclose past events. Clients complete the course gaining a new sense of self. Any further work needed will be noted during a review phone call one month after therapy.

ASK FOR A FREE HALF HOUR INTRODUCTION SESSION so you can evaluate the benefits of PICT Quick Change for yourself (face to face or by telephone).

If you wish to go ahead, you will complete a FREE assessment to determine your readiness for this way of working. When successful, therapy dates can be booked with a non refundable deposit.

Bespoke Therapy Course
